Excerpt from November 2, 2006 editorial on Proposals 1,3 and 4.

Proposal 3 would establish a hunting season for mourning doves. Until recently, Michigan had a 100 year tradition of protecting the mourning dove. Let’s get back to that. There are plenty of other game birds in Michigan to hunt. Michigan isn’t overpopulated with doves and the bird isn’t hunted for food. Protect our peaceful songbird. Vote no, on proposal 3.
